Shrimp and Spicy Tomato Pasta
This delicious Shrimp and Spicy Tomato Pasta combines succulent shrimp with a fiery tomato sauce, resulting in a dish that’s both satisfying and full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 200g pasta of your choice (preferably spaghetti)
- 300g shrimp, cleaned and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust based on taste)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Let simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Meanwhile, in another pan, heat a bit of olive oil over medium-high heat and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked shrimp to the skillet and gently mix.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until well combined. If needed, adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
