Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In your blender, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Blend the dry ingredients briefly until mixed.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the blender and blend everything together for about 2 minutes until smooth.
- Carefully add the boiling water to the mixture and blend again for about 30 seconds. The batter will be thin; this is normal for a chocolate cake.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cool, frost the cake with your favorite chocolate frosting, if desired, and serve.
