Chocolate Sponge Cake

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
