Threed: A Delectable Meat Dish
Threed is a traditional Middle Eastern dish that features tender meat served over a flavorful bread soaked in rich broth, embodying comfort and warmth in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 kg of meat (lamb or beef)
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 4 cups of water or broth
- 3 tbsp of ghee or vegetable oil
- 2 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 1 tsp of cumin
- 3 cups of bread (thinly sliced or torn)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the meat to the pot and sear it on all sides until browned.
- Pour in the water or broth, then add salt, black pepper, and cumin. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Meanwhile, prepare the bread by tearing it into pieces and placing it in a large serving dish.
- Once the meat is fully cooked, remove it from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes before shredding it into pieces.
- Pour the broth over the bread so that it absorbs the flavors, then top with the shredded meat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
